Airtel operations has finally turned profitable in Africa for the first time! Airtel currently have presence in Nigeria and other African countries like Chad, Congo B, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Madagascar, Niger, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Rwanda.

NCC SET TO SANCTION AND RATE TELCOS ON SERVICE DELIVERY

 


Nigeria Communication Commission has threatened to sanction telecommunication companies who are performing below the industrial average. Some telcos in Nigeria are known for their poor quality of service to customers and ripping off Nigerians.

After been on sleeping mode for so long, Airtel Nigeria is finally putting steps in place toward launching a 4G LTE network. This is coming months after every other GSM operators in Nigeria launched the 4G network in some selected cities.

AIRTEL RECORDED MAJOR INCREASE AS MTN LEADS DATA SUBSCRIBER BASE

 


NCC latest reports showed that the number of internet subscribers in Nigeria declined to 91,274,446 in January from 91,880,032 in December 2016. According to the report, Airtel was the only Telco that recorded a significant increase in the January numbers, GLO also recorded an very slight increase too.

The Minister of Science & Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the ownership of MTN Nigeria. Speaking today at the during the inaugural press conference of the Computer-Based Test, (CBT) Centre Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria, (CPAN), he said MTN is also being owned by the Indians and challenge Nigerians to come together and buy into the economy.

For some time, the suggestions to add tax to all calls longer than 3Min have been a major point of discussion among Nigerians.
